The July 15 Watchtower and all its new light is only...
by sosoconfused inmaking people cling to the organization more.
when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.
my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

Those diagrams will convince JWs. As for the rest of it, it's so damn confusing. When I was in I never really paid attention to that sort of stuff or tried to understand it because it was too loopy and I figured it didn't have much relevance to my day to day life. I wonder how many others there are who just go, "Meh, whatever."

Shame & Guilt...applied to religious abuse
by cog_survivor ini've been listening to a cd book by brene brown who is a "shame researcher".
she has a couple of fantastic presentations on ted that got me interested (google "ted" and "brene brown" if curious).. but i was struck by how much my cult experience caused me to internalize shame and call it guilt.
i love how she simply states, "guilt says, 'i made a mistake'.

The WT specialises in Guilt by making you feel like you're never good enough. There is always that urging to do more in the field service, more study, and more return visits, Bible studies etc...you're just not good enough doing what you do! You're defined by what you do, not who you are, and because you can never truly do all they say, then you are crushed by guilt.
When you do something good, and someone says, why didn't you do something great?
And when you do something great, and someone says, "Could you have made it brilliant?"
And when you pour your heart into something and someone says, "Are you SURE that was your best effort? Always, there's this second-guessing of your motives and zeal. Always, there's this urging to do yet MORE, even when you are at the end of your limit.
You do become ashamed of who are failing to be! This is what the WT thrives on, keeping you on that treadmill to try to gain the approval of a god who's never happy with how much you do and by extension who you are.

At the mouth of 2-3 witnesses a matter is established .Gods word the bible proves a generation is 50 years +, or - 5 years
by smiddy injehovah`s witnesses make a big deal about the 2 or 3 witnesses in judicial decisions yet they ignore that evidence when it suits them.. firstly :.
regarding the length of a generation matthew ch.1:17 gives a strong clue ,their are 3 lots of 14 generations mentioned which equal 42 generations from the time of abraham to jesus .. watchtower publications give abrahams birth as 2018 bc......they also give jesus birth as of 2 bc a period of 2016 years .
2016 yrs.

The Watchtower BTS now teaches the Rapture
by Julia Orwell innote what the reasoning book said about the rapture in 1984:.
rapture.
definition: the belief that faithful christians will be bodily caught up from the earth, suddenly taken out of the world, to be united with the lord in the air.

I thought that too, but it's very telling that the rapture is now moved to before Armageddon. Telling of what, I don't know.

The CO 'encourages' Julia to meet with THREE elders- the latest episode in the best-selling drama, The Fade of Julia Orwell.
by Julia Orwell init was yesterday morning and hubby and i were having a huge sleep in.
it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.
hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.

Yeah, thanks SkyGreen! I wonder what sort of kicks Prince gets from saying stuff like that? Not that I care that much. He's entitled to his opinion as we all are. If he doesn't like my writing, that's up to him.
@satanus: good analogy about primary school and spiritual teacher-facilitator/vs spiritual enslavement. I might bring that point up with him down the track some time :)
@JWFacts: at the right time, I will introduce hubby to another Christian group. I must complete my fade first and wait for things to die down. I have been planting seeds though: I just read a book called Escaping North Korea by Mike Kim, and it's about how these Christians risk their lives on the NK/China border to help NK refuges, people they've never even met. They feed and medicate the people, teach them, help them find jobs, help them seek asylum, operate orphanages, rescue NK trafficking victims, and infiltrate NK to bring food to communities. The message from the book is clear that these people risk their lives to help the North Koreans because they love them- people who they've never met! Some of them get killed, tortured or imprisoned for helping the North Koreans. It's making an impression on hubby, and I'm encouraging him to read the book. Then he can see that JWs can't hold a candle to those guys. It was actually a book that got me thinking about WT's claims of being the only loving religion when I first read it last year.

Note what the Reasoning book said about the Rapture in 1984:
Rapture
Definition: The belief that faithful Christians will be bodily caught up from the earth, suddenly taken out of the world, to be united with the Lord “in the air.” The word “rapture” is understood by some persons, but not by all, to be the meaning of 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The word “rapture” does not occur in the inspired Scriptures...
Will all faithful Christians be taken miraculously from the earth by the Lord before the great tribulation? Matt. 24:21, 22: “Then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.” (This does not say that “the chosen ones” will all have been taken to heaven before the great tribulation, does it? Rather, it holds out the prospect to them, along with associates in the flesh, of surviving that great tribulation on earth.)
The latest WT articles say, the ones that have so far caused such a stir among us: All faithful anointed ones who are still on earth after the initial part of the great tribulation has passed will already have received their final sealing. Then, as indicated in Jesus’ prophecy about the great tribulation, they will be gathered to heaven. I rest my case! -

July 15th Study Edition Is Up..
by confusedteenager innot sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but yeah.
they just posted up the new watchtower...with the confusing new information.. time for me to go dive into this "new light" and try to see what sense it makes.
of course cedars already nicely did a run down for us.. .

And what's this they're teaching the rapture now? The anointed will be taken up to heaven before Armageddon? I heard something about it at the Memorial and nearly spat up. Now it's confirmed.
And the "Feeding many through a few..." I was paraphrasing for my husband sitting across from me at his computer, and I couldn't even get far without saying, Puh-lease! and storming off.
From the amount of footnotes, I figure they're really hammering this one and bending over backwards to convince everyone. And the diagrams are actually helpful in understanding what they're trying to say, even if what they're trying to say is bonkers. But my JW friends will be saying, "Look how loving the FDS are to draw DIAGRAMS for us! They're really helping us to learn. The end must be so close!"
Others are just going to be plain bamboozled, and others like me will see it for the power grab that it really is and join our community!

They ambushed me!
by Anony Mous inwhen i was bringing my daughter back to her mother's house two elders stopped me and told me they wanted to talk.
i said i didn't have time, they asked me if i wanted to stop by the kh on saturday to talk to them.
i said i didn't have time.

Stay strong! They have no jurisdiction over you. Whatever the 'worrying things' are is none of their business since you've obviously been faded for a while. I wonder who's been ratting you out? Why didn't they come to you personally like the scriptures say to?

SO VERY PROUD OF YOU! THANK YOU!

surrounding the new anti-watchtower association.. >.
plse keep moving ahead, no matter what.. >.

At least the name Anti-Watchtower is unambiguous, no matter what you might think of it.
